Temple

These woods are no longer mine,
No longer silent.
Mad attendants of
           White,
               Milk,
                   Ivory
Crowd near.
So many rush in,
Take my right,
Get comfortable,
Wed and spend time together at night.
I must cover up!
Iris screen,
Plague veil—
Once forced, I now wear you by choice.
So I’m blind to myself.
Mad attendants of
           White,
               Milk,
                   Ivory
Rise to another place.
They’re not human.
They know nothing,
Just that they are lonely.
