Bread from Rome

Nyx is playing with a lighter
another is sitting
	   on her phone. You are
in the corner letting
guests lay on your legs. Something
is wrong
we keep saying
Something is off we mutter. You pull
on the heated
	   blanket.
My lover is in the shower, I’m on the bed
my body’s atomic plates
	   are moving
and shifting.
	   Light pops in Nyx’s hands.
You’re rocking
	   slightly. The festival’s groupies
are still laughing outside our window
	   Doesn’t it hurt?
I ask. And everyone
is too high to answer.
